LOCAL RECOMMMENDATIONS
We absolutely love our home in Louisville, Kentucky. If you’re visiting for a workshop, here are some local experiences we highly recommend during your stay:
FOOD AND BEVERAGE
If you’re looking for an exotic but savory burger, we recommend Game on Lexington Ave. If you’d like something a bit more upscale, try Proof on Main at our 21c Museum Hotel. Last, we want to shout out our incredible neighbors at Gravely Brewing, where you can find unique craft beer, refreshing cocktails, and street tacos from their live-in food truck.
If you’re into bourbon, we got you. We recommend downtown bourbon tours and experiences at Angels’ Envy, Rabbit Hole Distillery, and Evan Williams. If you’re willing to travel towards Versailles and Lexington, you can visit several other stops along the Bourbon Trail such as Woodford Reserve, Buffalo Trace, and Four Roses Distillery.
ENTERTAINMENT
If you’d like to see our downtown waterfront park, check out the Big Four Pedestrian Bridge (and bring your walking shoes). If you’re looking for a live event, do a quick search for dates around your scheduled workshop. Louisville regularly hosts live concerts and music festivals, theatrical performances, and art exhibitions. Some of our favorite venues include Actors Theatre of Louisville, Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, Louisville Palace Theatre, Speed Art Museum, KMAC Museum, and the Muhammad Ali Center. For a calendar of local events, check out www.do502.com.
HOSPITALITY
If you’re looking for a cozy and stylish place to stay downtown, we love both Aloft and Moxy hotels. For an eclectic and wonderfully artistic environment, you have to try the 21c Museum Hotel. For a luxurious stay, we absolutely love our Omni Hotel. If it’s in season, check out the rooftop swimming pool!
